PROMEBA: Technology that redefines productivity  

PROMEBA, specialists in the manufacture of machined parts for the automotive industry and located in the state of Guanajuato, opened their doors to us to discuss their achievements, their extensive production capacity, and the implementation of new technologies.

“Our relationship with HEMAQ began in 2020 with the need to develop a new business unit. We learned about them through our clients and other recommendations, so we approached them and together we carried out the necessary analysis to acquire our first OKUMA equipment,” said PROMEBA’s Director of Operations.

The equipment in question was a 2SP-2500H multi-spindle CNC lathe; a piece of equipment designed for the manufacture of complex machining. Thus, from 2020 to date, PROMEBA has acquired more than 30 OKUMA machines, including horizontal and multi-spindle lathes, which work nonstop throughout the year thanks to the excellent relationship that exists with HEMAQ. “The starting point of the relationship was the increase in our installed capacity, although the incorporation of their CNC machines has contributed significantly to improving productivity, by providing us with precision and accuracy through their design and technology,” emphasized PROMEBA’s Manufacturing and Projects manager.

“The key was that HEMAQ not only offered a solution in terms of machines, but a comprehensive solution that would meet the volume (of production), tolerances and geometries of the parts, but also make us more competitive,” added the PROMEBA team, when explaining the process together, since both parties participated with engineering, support and advice for the design of processes. the selection of tools and accessories for efficient machining.

This was the first step in building a long-lasting and trusting relationship, as one of HEMAQ’s philosophies is its always-available service. “Thanks to their attention and support, we were able to increase productivity and stability and robustness of the process. In general terms of production, we have made a 180° turn, reaching high levels of productivity,” added the company’s Head of New Business Development.

By reviewing the technology and performance of the OKUMA machines, PROMEBA continues with a process of modernization and expansion of its capacities, seeking stable growth. “We have chosen to continue working with HEMAQ to modernize our equipment, which has allowed us to increase efficiency and expand production capacity in a second business unit.

As for support, a personalized and constant attention capacity is key to maintaining an operation without unnecessary pauses. “HEMAQ’s attention has been constant and personalized, one of the closest we have, and that closeness has allowed them to know what needs we have and find solutions, accordingly, knowing comprehensibly our operation”.

Finally, a CNC machining supplier cannot get behind and is constantly looking for new projects, something to which the PROMEBA team has excelled thanks to its levels of efficiency and high production capabilities. “HEMAQ has helped us a lot in some developments with its know-how, from the machine, accessories and tooling. They provided us with the guideline to offer new products that are stricter in terms of geometric tolerances and have been a key piece in our capability of offering parts with greater precision and tighter tolerances,” added the Operations department, thus complementing an overview.

PROMEBA’s capacity continues to grow, and to this is added a new project, of which we can say little, but of which an important detail was revealed to us: “We are making a complex part due to the amount of overmaterial to be cut, however, with OKUMA’s technology we are very happy with the process and its selection. They are very precise, efficient machines that help us to be more productive”.

Together, service relationships, support for new business and state-of-the-art technology have resulted in a plant that maintains high quality standards and grows along with the industry, leading the production of CNC machining in the Mexican Bajío. “We have a high-performance rating, the machinery has been key to having a stable process, very low scrap percentages and 3 years with zero rejected parts,” clarified the PROMEBA team, who thus closed a very pleasant visit to their facilities.
