To celebrate HEMAQ's 35th anniversary, we talked with Mr. Benito Gritzewsky, founder of HEMAQ, about the company’s beginnings and goals, and how he sees the future of the project of which we are all part. Let's start at the beginning: what was the market like in 1988, when Mr. Gritzewsky founded HEMAQ. Towards the end of the eighties, foreign suppliers of CNC Machinery in Mexico limited themselves to offering their products through catalogs and brochures and lacked specialized local personnel. Observing the needs of the market, Mr. Gritzewsky decided to bet on personalized local attention:
“We differentiate ourselves by having trained personnel to propose real solutions to the problems and needs of our clients, in addition to always seeking the best solution. We visit the workshops where companies have their needs, and we offer solutions and recommendations to improve processes, as there are always better ways to do things. Previously, providers had to come from Europe to provide support; this is where we set ourselves apart, when we opened our showroom and when we organized our local support, service, engineering, and sales departments, all local.”
Over time, and overcoming challenges and obstacles, HEMAQ has set goals and objectives to meet, always parting from the values that represent the brand.
“Our goal remains the same from day one: to always be the best. What has changed have been our objectives based on time, the magnitude of the projects and the environment, as well as the local, regional, and even international situation. We have faced devaluations, inflation, we have gone through difficult situations such as the ‘December Mistake’ and the famous Y2K paranoia… all of this has forced us to adjust our objectives but keeping our goal in mind and our values strong from the beginning”.
To end our conversation with Mr. Benito Gritzewsky, he told us how proud he is of the HEMAQ family:
“35 years is easy to say, but I think the most important thing is that we keep our values and principles engraved in our minds and hearts, of which we must be proud. Regarding growth, we will continue to consolidate ourselves as the best in the market, for our partners and suppliers. We should be proud to grow not only quantitatively but also qualitatively; that is, to always be focused on the development of our staff and our team… I repeat, continue to be the best”.
We want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the members of the HEMAQ family, including collaborators, clients and suppliers.
Let's keep being the best!
“Beyond leadership, the main motivation behind HEMAQ is to think about our family, our community and our society.”
