From September 14 to 19, 2026, Chicago will become the meeting point for global manufacturing with IMTS 2026, one of the most important events in the metalworking industry.

At this year’s event, HEMAQ will showcase solutions from four leading brands in its technology portfolio: OKUMA, MODIG, JINGDIAO, and UNISIG. Each brand brings specialized capabilities to address different production challenges, from automation and high-performance machining to precision applications and deep-hole drilling. OKUMA: Productivity That Goes Beyond the Machine

As the official OKUMA distributor in Mexico, HEMAQ will join the brand at IMTS 2026, where OKUMA will present an ecosystem that integrates CNC machines, automation, controls, and services designed to support equipment throughout its entire lifecycle.

At booth #338500 in McCormick Place, OKUMA will showcase 11 machines, including four new launches for the Americas, most of them paired with automation solutions.

Featured CNC machines include the GENOS M460V-5AX, a five-axis vertical machining center equipped with an OKUMA Robot Loader, and the MULTUS U1000 multitasking machine, designed to integrate complex operations into a single platform.

One of the most exciting new experiences at the 2026 edition will be OKUMA’s Virtual Reality experience, allowing visitors to explore CNC machines in 3D and interact with models that will not be physically displayed at the booth, such as the MCR-A5CII double-column machining center.

Automation will also play a major role, with equipment such as the MB-5000HII, paired with a Tower Pallet Changer, and the MS-320H four-axis horizontal machining center, equipped with a Robot Loader. These solutions will demonstrate how manufacturers can extend production hours while reducing operator intervention.

OKUMA’s concept is clear: Automation for All—a commitment to making automation accessible not only to large-scale production plants, but also adaptable to different levels of operation and specific production needs.

Another particularly interesting combination will be the GENOS M460V-5AX Vertical Machining Center with the OKUMA Robot Loader, demonstrating an automated five-axis machining solution focused on increasing productivity and making automation easier to adopt.

This offering is complemented by OKUMA’s next-generation CNC control, the OSP-P500, further strengthening the integration between machine, automation, and control.

This technology is particularly relevant for industries such as aerospace and automotive, where reducing cycle times and cost per part is essential to maintaining competitiveness.

JINGDIAO: Precision Measured in Microns

JINGDIAO will present the GRA400, a five-axis machining center developed for applications requiring high precision and complex geometries.

The machine integrates milling, grinding, drilling, boring, and tapping operations, with machining accuracy ranging from 2 to 10 μm and a spindle speed of up to 20,000 rpm.

The experience will be complemented by SurfMill, JINGDIAO’s CAD/CAM platform, along with a display of more than 100 machined parts, demonstrating how machine, software, and measurement can work together as a single system.

UNISIG: Precision Where Depth Matters

During IMTS 2026, UNISIG will showcase technologies for deep-hole drilling and multi-spindle applications, as well as horizontal and vertical machining centers and CNC milling and turning solutions.

From June 2 to 4, HEMAQ participated in EXPOMAQ 2026, one of the most important events for the manufacturing industry in Mexico. Over the course of three days, the company shared innovation, technology, and expertise with customers, business partners, machine tool manufacturers, students, and industry professionals.

Throughout the exhibition, HEMAQ showcased solutions focused on increasing productivity, optimizing processes, and strengthening the competitiveness of manufacturing companies. The event also provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, explore the trends shaping the future of the industry, and reinforce the company’s commitment to the development of Mexico’s manufacturing sector.

CNC Technology, Automation, and Advanced Manufacturing in Action

During EXPOMAQ 2026, HEMAQ presented a CNC machinery display featuring technologies from OKUMA and YCM by TEQNIPRO, including Machining Centers, CNC lathes, and multitasking solutions with live machining demonstrations.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the live demonstration conducted on the 5-axis OKUMA GENOS M560V-5AX machining center, where a replica of the FIFA World Cup Trophy was manufactured to showcase the machine’s precision, surface finish quality, and simultaneous 5-axis machining capabilities. Attendees also had the opportunity to closely examine various machining solutions designed to meet the requirements of industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and mold & die manufacturing.

The participation of OKUMA America specialists, including Kiyomi Nakama, Yoshi Nakagawa, and Richard Estes, provided visitors with valuable technical insights, application expertise, and a deeper understanding of the capabilities of the technologies on display. In addition, Juno Wang, representative of Honor Seiki from TEQNIPRO, supported the event activities by sharing expertise in vertical turning solutions for demanding industrial applications.

Through PERIFERIQ, HEMAQ exhibited a wide range of CNC peripherals, cutting tools, magnetic chucks, cooling systems, and complementary solutions designed to optimize manufacturing performance. As part of the display, all CNC machines were equipped with Mist Collector systems for oil mist and coolant extraction, helping maintain cleaner and safer working environments.

The company also showcased the FOODIE, FOODIE II, MINI, and BEST 1 coolant cleaning systems from the Smart Green Solutions product line. These systems are designed to improve cutting fluid quality, extend coolant life, and support more efficient and sustainable manufacturing operations.

Among the complementary technologies presented, a Rotoclear camera system was installed on an OKUMA LT2000 lathe, allowing visitors to observe machining processes in real time and high definition, even in environments with heavy coolant presence.

OTOMATIQA also introduced automation solutions focused on increasing productivity and operational efficiency. One of the featured technologies was a servo-motor-driven automatic door system installed on the OKUMA LT2000 and OKUMA LB3000 lathes, demonstrating how automation can facilitate process integration and reduce non-productive time on the shop floor.

In this edition, more than 118 companies from the industrial sector participated, gaining hands-on and dynamic exposure to the latest developments in CNC machining. Attendees explored the direction of the industry through live equipment demonstrations at the Monterrey Advanced Manufacturing Center, including machines from the Affordable-Excellence OKUMA line such as the B250II, Genos L250II-e, Genos L400II-e, and VT1000 lathes, as well as OKUMA machining centers like the Genos M460V-5AX, the Genos M560-V automated with a Cobot 0B7 Max 12, and the YCM JC10E machining center.

However, the event was not just about technology, the grill also took center stage. Ten teams made up of our sponsor partners—Sandvik, Renishaw, Schunk, Blum, Lyndex-Nikken, SMW Autoblok, OKUMA, Hainbuch, ISCAR, and Kitagawa—demonstrated their expertise both technically and on the grill, adding flavor and energy to the gathering.

The event featured strategic partners who made the experience even more complete. Official suppliers such as Carnicería Ramos, Cerveza Rrëy, and Asadores Weber contributed to the atmosphere, alongside the grilling sponsors who reinforced the blend of industry and entertainment.

The grilling competition was led by master grill chef Gualberto Elizondo, known as “Weber,” a member of the Mexican Society of Grillers, who evaluated each dish with his unique style. After a close competition, the ISCAR team won the “Master Grill Chef” award, standing out for their technique, flavor, preparation, and presentation.

The evening concluded with live music by the band Faraones, followed by a lucha libre show that energized the atmosphere after a day full of excitement and fun.

As part of its 2025 year-end activities, HEMAQ hosted El Buen Grill at its facilities in Monterrey and Querétaro, bringing together CNC industry customers, strategic partners, and manufacturing allies in an environment designed to encourage connection, conversation, and relationship-building beyond day-to-day operations.

The objective was clear: to personally thank customers for their trust and long-term collaboration, while creating a closer space to share perspectives on the current state of advanced manufacturing, discuss ongoing initiatives, and look ahead to future projects.

Held simultaneously on November 27, 2025, El Buen Grill welcomed representatives from 87 companies across industries such as aerospace, automotive, metalworking, precision manufacturing, and industrial automation. Attendees traveled from different regions of Mexico, reflecting both HEMAQ’s national reach and the diversity of the CNC manufacturing ecosystem it supports.

The event offered a thoughtfully curated experience aimed at creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, conducive to open conversation and meaningful interaction outside the usual technical and production-focused environment. The Spin and Grill activity featured multiple prizes, along with a premium raffle that included grills, insulated coolers, molcajetes, a television, headphones, and vouchers for traditional cookouts, adding an element of appreciation and surprise.

Beyond the activities themselves, the most valuable aspect of the event was the shared time and direct interaction, the opportunity to sit down, exchange ideas, and strengthen trust and mutual understanding that form the foundation of long-term relationships in the CNC machinery and manufacturing industry.

For HEMAQ, El Buen Grill 2025 was more than a social gathering. This new academic space has two state-of-the-art machines: a GENOS L250II-e horizontal lathe and a GENOS M560V machining center, both with OKUMA’s advanced OSP control, the former with the P300 version and the latter with the latest P500 version. Thanks to these technologies, students will be able to train in CNC machine programming and operation, broadening their horizons toward new job opportunities in the advanced manufacturing industry.

The event was attended by prominent representatives from academia and industry: Rafael Ontiveros, Director of Engineering and Applications at HEMAQ; Richard Estes, Vice President of OKUMA Latin America; Benito Gritzewsky, General Director of HEMAQ; Martín Gueta, Director of the Santa Catarina Poniente Polytechnic High School; María del Roble Garza, Vice-Rector of Higher Secondary Education at UDEM; and Susana Bremer, Director of Development at UDEM, as well as leaders from the region’s manufacturing industry.

With this initiative, UDEM’s Polytechnic High School consolidates its position as a benchmark in technical and technological training for young people in Mexico. The creation of this laboratory represents a decisive step in promoting national talent at a key moment for the industry, where the preparation of new generations is essential to maintain the country as a hub for investment and development in advanced manufacturing.

This past March 27 we celebrated the 2025 edition of Rebaba y Brasas with the theme “Lucha y Sazón”, where we combined a convivial atmosphere ideal for generating new business and strengthening our relationships with partners, customers and employees.

The afternoon began with the traditional Grill Competition, where the sponsoring teams competed to show who are the best cooks on the grill. Then, during the night, we were able to be part of one of the most emblematic shows in Mexico: wrestling. With the help of Lucha Time we were able to enjoy 3 multiple fights and an excellent show full of laughter.
